Dr. Janet Ferguson is an adult educator who guides storytelling journeys. As a certified Guided Autobiographical Writing (GAB) Instructor, she brings a wealth of expertise in this field.
She has been involved with StoryCenter, an organization founded by Joe Lambert, a pioneering figure in digital storytelling in 1990s L.A. In her foreword to Lambert's groundbreaking book, "Seven Stages of Story and Human Experience” she shares her understanding of the transformative possibilities of storywork.
Janet is committed to using GAB to explore material memory. Her in-person workshops include “LLC Legacy Stories - Material Memory” and she is eagerly anticipating facilitating "Tasting the Past - Flavors of Memory" in spring 2024. This GAB approach to facilitating storywork resonates with museums and community organizations that seek to include and amplify marginalized voices and stories.
