Welcome to The Birren Center Community Hub

Hi, welcome to the Birren Center Community Hub. This is the culmination of 15 years of training, GAB instructors, nearly 700 of you now, worldwide. This is a private, exclusive area just for GAB instructors. We are creating it so that you have a place to connect, to collaborate, and to learn from one another.

In the hub, you will find, resources. There's many resources, and we'll be updating and adding new resources regularly. There's some in there now, and we promise that you're going to be getting more. These include the themes, articles that might be important to you, things that you can use to benefit you in your own GAB classes.

After joining the Community Hub, which you've done because you're listening to me, you will be receiving an invitation from the Birren Center to join the forum. This might take a little bit of explanation, but the forum is a separate component within the community hub. The forum is where you will interact and connect and talk and chat with the other GAB instructors.

So you will be sent a form to fill out. This is only an administrative detail. You're going to be adding, creating your own password, deciding which email you want to use when you join, and more. But it's only to keep it private, and it's only for you, and it's a one time only. thing that you need to do. So once you've done that, you'll automatically be admitted into the forum, and I recommend highly that you go in and explore it, because this is your place to meet and connect and work with the other GAB instructors.

Within the forum, we've created categories. So the categories, the first one is Welcome. I would suggest you start there. It tells you what the forum is, the purpose, there's a forum guide that you can go down and read, download if you want, find out how the forum works, , answer any questions that you might have about the forum and posting, etc.

After Welcome, there's a category called Let's Gab About It. Let's Gab About It actually takes the place of the old Birren Gab Google group. that we use for so many years to keep ourselves connected and up to date with one another. So go into Let's Gab About It. see what there is. There's a few posts in there already.

This is where you will post your questions, look for support, give advice. Connect with GAB instructors around the world. It's just a, it's a tremendous resource for you. the other categories, there's other categories listed. Each one has a brief description, so I'm just going to name them here for you. I encourage you to go in and check them out and look at it.

One category is tips and tricks. One of them is books and more. Another one is writing prompts and exercises. They kind of are self explanatory. You can imagine what's in it. And they're all for you to go in and post resources, to ask questions, where we will go in and post resources, etc. And finally, there's one that I should take a minute to talk about.

It's called the Official GAB News. This is where you will find out what's going on within Birren community. What the connections that we've made, webinars that will be coming up, gab chats, trainings, new courses. This is your connection to the bigger gab world, should I say, that we on the board and all of us are working to get gab out there so that everybody knows about the power of sharing our life stories with this remarkable method.

I invite you to take a few minutes, , explore the hub, see the resources that we have listed there, go into the forum. This forum, again, is a work in progress. We ask you to go in to look it over. If you have suggestions for improvement, please give us feedback. We grow from your feedback. This is for you.

So unless you tell us what you need, we don't know how to meet those needs, and that's really our goal. So we're setting this up for all of you to participate. We hope you will do it, because our community is enriched by your participation. All of you are brilliant people, and again, we've created this entire community hub and forum by, with, and for you, and we want to make it your own.

So give us feedback, tell us what works, let us know. There is a email called support@theBirrenCenter.Org that you can ask any questions, get technical support, get, you know, give us feedback, you know, find out how to use this to your best advantage. So don't hesitate to use it within that email group.

Your question will be sent to the right person to answer. And trust me, if it's technological problems, it won't be going to me because that's not my forte. So again, I welcome you. I'm excited to have you all here. I think we're on a different adventure. Now we're moving the Birren organization up and out into the world.
